"Human Form"
Xu Wen Tao

9 September - 6 October 2003

Nudity has always been a popular subject matter for artists, however to the general mass, naked human body is a taboo, and such belief has prevented them from appreciating this kind of art. What we always see in art is usually body in abstract form rather than the ones, which Xu Wen Tao are depicting in this new exhibition ¡V body in clear, luminous skin tone and straightforward description of the figures. The faceless nudity and the ideal forms of the figures in the bath tub, contained within a firm and confident outline are typical of Xu Wen Tao's style and reflect the artist's deep understanding of the finest nudes.

Graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts and excel also in his Clone Series, Xu Wen Tao will be present at the opening reception on 9 September 2003.
