The work of Michael Burges is an attempt at making us understand the process of acquisition and accumulation of knowledge of the world by such qualities of thought through images. His refraction paintings, all oil on wood, embedded with scientific approach and knowledge of energy through colour and light, touches the viewer's inner senses. One appreciates his masterly control over linear layers in hues of various colours. In his search for the ideal structure and balance, driven by his academic background, he creates the imaginary space of energy and light.
