Schoeni Art Gallery Ltd. is delighted to announce "Beyond the Canvas", its collaboration with international lifestyle brand, Shanghai Tang, launching in conjunction with Shanghai Tang's Spring 2006, Ready-to-Wear Collection, Chuang Yi (´´ÒÕ "Create Art").

We are proud to contribute to this project, as collectively, we share a common goal and vision for the development and exposure of Contemporary China - this project will fuse the beauty and allure of an exclusive collection from our artists, with the quality and taste of Shanghai Tang's fashion line of clothing and houseware. Schoeni Gallery Ltd's contribution to this project is a line of limited edition products entitled Beyond the Canvas, which will showcase a specially commissioned collection of works by 5 artists and will incorporate some of Shanghai Tang's trademark items of sophistication and comfort. Coinciding to the launch of Shanghai Tang's product line based on the work of our artists, we will be presenting an exclusive opportunity to view the actual works that were put forth as the inspirational force behind the design of the products as well as other works by our carefully selected artists. The artists that we will be featuring are: Chen Yu, Chen Wen Bo, Feng Zheng Jie, Liu Ye and Yu Chen.

Our artists have enjoyed esteem in their own right, and have in many ways contributed to Schoeni Art Gallery Ltd's position in the forerunning of Contemporary Chinese Art, since our establishment in 1992. The culmination of our joint venture with Shanghai Tang is, in many ways a living legacy of our later founder's, Manfred Schoeni's, efforts to promote Contemporary Chinese Art in the international market. Together with the vision of his daughter Nicole Schoeni, we continue to strive in ardent zeal to advocate the beauty and elegance of the work that we represent. We are motivated by the opportunity that this collection presents to broaden the experience of our Contemporary Art. Through this initiative we are better able to diversify the scope of the distinct styles and motifs of our artists to a wider audience.

In celebration of the much anticipated launch of this limited edition collectors' items, Schoeni Art Gallery is delighted to hold an exhibition that spotlights the original artworks that had been commissioned exclusively for this collaboration and other new works by Chen Yu, Chen Wen Bo, Feng Zheng Jie, Liu Ye and Yu Chen, who will all be present at the vernissage. Beyond the Canvas is an exhibition that acts as a landmark of artistic endeavour limitlessly fusing panache with rare beauty.

Schoeni Gallery Ltd. is very much looking forward to this Spring as it will mark a new direction and choice for our gallery in the style and creativity that we hope you have come to expect from.
